Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching English, Economics, and History at the IB and IGCSE levels in Singapore for over 5 years now. In my time as a tutor, I've worked with diverse groups of students, nurturing their strengths and helping them overcome academic challenges. I take pride in guiding my students through rigorous academic content and helping them to achieve their individual goals.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching philosophy is based on understanding each student's unique learning style and adapting my teaching methods to suit them. I believe that learning is not a one-size-fits-all process. I initiate my tutoring sessions by building a rapport with my students and understanding their individual strengths and weaknesses. From there, I craft personalized lesson plans that can enhance their understanding and retention of the subjects. For complex topics, I break them down into manageable chunks, promoting a step-by-step approach to learning. I incorporate real-life examples to make learning more relevant and engaging. Regular feedback and constructive criticism are key aspects of my tutoring approach, as they help in promoting self-improvement and resilience. At the end of the day, my ultimate aim is to cultivate a love for learning and to help my students become independent, confident learners.
