Tutoring Experience

I have worked as a private tutor for over 5 years: the bulk of my work is teaching IB, GCSE and A-Level Maths and GCSE Science. I also help prepare candidates for the 11+ and 13+ examinations, as well as entrance to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

I have helped candidates prepare for Mathematics and Computer Science interviews and entrance examinations such as the STEP, MAT and CSAT.

Whilst I was an undergraduate, I worked as a volunteer maths teacher at Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge as part of the STIMULUS programme. I helped students with their coursework, focussing on discrete mathematics.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is centred around fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematical andscientific concepts, rather than just memorisation. I believe that every student has a unique way oflearning, and my first step is always to understand their individual needs and learning style.

This allows me to tailor my teaching methods in a way that resonates most effectively with each student.I emphasize the importance of building a strong foundational knowledge, as this is crucial for tacklingmore advanced topics.

My sessions are interactive and question-based, encouraging students to thinkcritically and engage actively with the material. I use real-world examples to demonstrate therelevance and application of concepts, which helps in making abstract ideas more tangible and interesting.
