Tutoring Experience

In the bustling heart of Barcelona, I've been fortunate enough to mentor over 200 students, both online and offline, spanning IGCSE and IB syllabuses. My journey began in local high schools, where I would assist teachers in refining lesson plans and designing tailor-made problem sets. I've run an annual workshop for IB Maths, focusing specifically on Internal Assessments and preparing students for the challenging nature of Extended Essays. Beyond this, my weekend boot camps on algebraic reasoning and trigonometry have been especially sought after. This direct exposure to various student profiles has helped me recognize patterns in learning styles and address them proactively.

Tutoring Approach

I operate with the philosophy that Maths is best grasped when approached from a place of genuine curiosity. To achieve this, I begin with grounding concepts in practical examples from the world around us. Subsequently, through guided questioning, I lead students to construct their understanding, rather than spoon-feed them answers. This discovery-based method ensures retention and conceptual clarity. Every student is unique, and thus, I focus heavily on individualized learning plans, understanding a student's strengths and areas of improvement, and aligning our goals accordingly. Regular assessments and feedback sessions form an integral part of my approach, ensuring we're always on the right track.
